This originally appeared in the Books of Odd, but it has since been updated.Mainframe, the ‘computer’ (read:city) that the show is set in, looks quite a bit like an island city in a vast ocean, shaped roughly circular with some stacked levels (like a hard drive). There are a few places of major interest: The Central Office, which is essentially City Hall, containing the headquarters for the police (CPUs), and the software archives, full of programs the viruses would love to get a hold of (and have more than once).

Making Lemons

(from the Book of Odd Issue #2) As the warheads arced closer, Fred tapped a few keys at his fire-control computer’s keyboard. [Dice rolling…natural 3] Beams of light lanced out and destroyed all the warheads in time…check…nope, missed one..? Ah yes, the joys of technology. Despite the most skilled and lucky of users, sometimes it just doesn’t work like it’s supposed to. And so, I present two tables, somewhat reminiscent of those in GURPS: Vehicles.

(Author’s note: Yes, the title is a spoof on the Jouwri Kee from Roleplayer #26.) “FREEZE!” Officer O’Rouke said as she confronted the thief in the grocery store. The burly thief paid her no attention, and instead chose to charge, knocking her down. With one leg he pinned both of hers as he did something to her boots. Suddenly, he charged away. Officer O’Rouke moved to follow, but couldn’t run because of what the thief had done to her footwear.

Drowser Implants As human civilization neared TL10, one great conglomerate run by an entrepreneur responsible for most of the advances in implants suddenly turned its attention to the non-conscious areas in the brain. The reason for this sudden change in direction was unknown to virtually no one but the entrepreneur himself, who was dealing with the fact that his favorite granddaughter had become a mental vegetable after a GEV accident. And so, scientists set out to discover how to reverse this unfortunate condition…

New Disadvantages

This page used to describe itself as containing other things besides GURPS Disadvantages, but that’s all that seems to be on there, so… Bad Handwriting (-3 points) This disadvantage is only available to Literate characters. Your handwriting is a scribbledy-mess! This means that it takes 1d+1 times as long for a given character other than yourself to read (the GM may wish to give a character experienced with bad handwriting a bonus to this roll, but no less than normal speed, and that for someone who has known the particular bad handwriter in question for a long time).
