What is ADF?
ADF (Ar nDraiocht Fein, roughly “Our Own Druidism”; also, A Druid Fellowship) is a modern reconstructionist neopagan group oriented toward toward the Indo-European Pagan cultures (those speaking Indo-European languages/within the Indo-European cultural complex.
Reconstructionist Neopagans?
Yup. We attempt to blend scholarship about the ancients with modern inspiration.
Well, okay. What about Indo-Europeans?
The Indo-Europeans are members of a culture that spread from an unknown area, whose languages descended from a common, Proto-Indo-European source.
Hmm, enough about that. What do you do?
We hold public celebrations of the eight High Days (solstices, equinoxes, and dates roughly halfway in-between those.
Sounds interesting. Are there any requirements if I want to attend?
Come as you are, and with an open mind. We do appreciate donations to defray offerings, and occasionally our rites have potlucks afterward.
I like potlucks! Anything I should know?
We appreciate an index card with a list of ingredients, or indications if an item is/isn’t vegetarian (or vegan) to set out in front of the potluck item. The name is a good part to have on there too, so we can ask for the recipe!
Sounds great, how do I join?
We expect those who join to have attended a ritual first. If you’ve done so, contact us to find out more about the process.
